Howell was found shot to death in a wooded area outside of a building in the 7900 block of Oxman Road around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, police said. Mitchell and Howell had previously been in a relationship, according to police.
While in custody for Howell's murder, Mitchell was charged for the death of 32-year-old Kenneth Reddix of Beltsville as well. Mitchell shot Reddix in the 7000 block of Kent Town Drive around 2:40 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, police said. He died several hours later at a local hospital.
